Reviews that read like a job record

A star average tells you little about a contractor. What was the job, where, how big, did it finish on time, and did it hold up six months later? That is what a SoukLocal review shows.

The short answer

On SoukLocal, only a customer with a real job record can review a business. Each review shows the trade, community, budget band and completion month, with separate scores for workmanship, time, budget, communication and site care. Contracting jobs get a follow-up after 6 months. Critical reviews are published after a policy check, never held back for the business.

What makes it different

One job, one review

Every review sits on a job record: the trade, the community, the budget band and the month it finished. No job, no review.

Scores that matter on site

Workmanship, on time, on budget, communication and site care, scored separately. Plus one plain question: would you hire them again?

The 6-month check

For contracting work, a short follow-up six months after handover: did defects appear, and did the business fix them?

Right of reply, not right of delay

Critical reviews go live after a policy check. The business replies in public. A review is marked Resolved only when the customer says so.

Every customer is asked

Invites go automatically to every customer on every job record. Businesses cannot pick who gets asked.

Recent work counts

Scores use the last 24 months, so a profile reflects the business as it is now, not as it was years ago.

Reply record in public

Each profile shows how many critical reviews the business answered and how fast it usually replies.

A visible removal record

If we remove a review for breaking the policy, the profile shows the count and the reason. Nothing disappears quietly.

What the profile shows

  • Overall score from job reviews in the last 24 months, with the number of reviews and the spread from 1 to 5.
  • Score by dimension: workmanship, on time, on budget, communication and site care.
  • Would hire again: the share of customers who said yes.
  • Held up after 6 months: how many follow-ups reported no defects, or defects that were fixed.
  • Reply record: the share of critical reviews (1 or 2 stars) the business answered, and its usual reply time.
  • Removal record: reviews removed for breaking the policy, with the reason for each.
  • Filters: by trade, community, budget band, score and reviews with photos, so you can read jobs like yours.

Reviews of suppliers

Trade suppliers are reviewed by the homeowners and contractors who bought from them, on a confirmed order. The scores fit the trade: product as described, delivered on time, stock and price as quoted, and after-sales help.

Top Rated

A business is Top Rated when its job reviews from the last 24 months average 4.5 or higher across 20 or more reviews. Top Rated is earned from reviews only. It cannot be bought, and paid plans do not affect it.

Review rules

  • Write about the job: what was agreed, what happened, how it ended. Opinions are fine; insults and personal data are not. Offensive or defamatory statements can be unlawful in the UAE.
  • No incentives: neither the business nor SoukLocal may pay or reward you for a review or for changing one.
  • A business can report a review that breaks the rules. We decide within 2 working days and the review stays visible while we check, unless it shares personal data.
  • You can update your review once, for example after a defect is fixed. The original date and the update date both show.

Questions

Who can review a business on SoukLocal?

Only a customer with a job record: a request made through SoukLocal that the business took on, or a job the business added and the customer confirmed by WhatsApp code. One job gives one review, plus an optional follow-up after 6 months.

Can a business hide or delay a bad review?

No. After a policy check of up to 2 working days, the review is published. The business can reply publicly. We remove a review only if it breaks the review policy, and the profile shows how many were removed and why.

Why do SoukLocal reviews have several scores?

Because a renovation can be beautiful and late, or on time and over budget. Customers score workmanship, timeliness, budget, communication and site care separately, and say whether they would hire the business again.

What is the 6-month check?

Six months after a contracting job is completed, the customer is asked whether any defects appeared and whether the business fixed them. Leaks and cracks often show up after handover, so this shows how a business stands behind its work.

Do businesses choose which customers are asked for a review?

No. SoukLocal invites every customer on every job record automatically, so a business cannot ask only its happiest customers.
