How SoukLocal makes money
We tell you before you join, not after.
- Homeowners never pay. Searching, comparing and requesting quotes is free.
- Founding businesses list free. A verified listing costs nothing during the founding period.
- Paid plans are optional. They add tools and help, and their prices are published before anyone is asked to pay. Nobody is moved to a paid plan without signing up.
- Money never buys ranking. Any paid placement is labelled Sponsored and kept apart from the results.
How joining works
- Send your details. Business name, trade, areas served and a WhatsApp contact.
- We verify. We check your trade licence and, for contracting work in Dubai, your Contractor Register status. We aim to do this within 1 working day of receiving your documents.
- We build your listing with you. Services, price ranges, service areas and real project photos.
- Go live. Your listing goes live when we open your trade and area to customers.
What we check
- Trade licence: valid, and its activities match the work you list.
- Dubai Municipality Contractor Register: registration and classification, for contracting work (required under Dubai Law No. 7 of 2025).
- Engineering consultants: Dubai Municipality registration under Dubai Law No. 14 of 2025.
- The person we deal with is authorised to act for the business.
- Contractors: third-party liability insurance and workers' compensation cover in force.

What does it cost to join?
Nothing during the founding period. Founding businesses get a free verified listing while SoukLocal launches in Dubai. We will publish our paid plans before anyone is asked to pay, and no one is moved to a paid plan without signing up for it.
What do you need from me?
Your trade licence, the areas you serve, a contact person on WhatsApp, and photos of real projects you have completed. For contracting work in Dubai we also check your Dubai Municipality Contractor Register status.
How do customers reach me?
Customers tap Chat on WhatsApp or Call on your listing, or send a quote request that goes to up to 3 matching businesses. Each enquiry shows in your dashboard so you can see what your listing brings in.
Can I pay to appear first?
No. Search results are ranked by published rules: relevance to the job, distance, verification status and reviews. Any paid placement in future will be labelled Sponsored and kept separate from the results.
Can I remove a bad review?
No. You can reply publicly to any review, and you can report a review that breaks our review policy, for example if it is not about a real job. We never remove reviews for payment.
