Frequently asked questions
SoukLocal is free for homeowners and tenants, searches Dubai by community because the UAE has no postcodes, and only marks a business Verified after checking its trade licence and, for contracting work, its Dubai Municipality Contractor Register status. Businesses list free during the founding period and can never pay to rank higher.
For homeowners and tenants
What is SoukLocal?
SoukLocal is a UAE marketplace for licence-checked local businesses. It launches in Dubai with renovation, fit-out and maintenance businesses, organised by community, with WhatsApp contact in one tap.
Is SoukLocal free for homeowners?
Yes. Searching, comparing and requesting quotes is free for homeowners and tenants.
How do I find a contractor in my community?
Search by trade and community, for example kitchens in Arabian Ranches, or use your location. While businesses are being verified, tell us your project and we will connect you with up to 3 licence-checked businesses as they go live.
Why can I not search by postcode?
The UAE has no postcodes. SoukLocal searches by community name instead, and understands common short forms such as JVC, AR2 and Springs 3.
Is a Verified business guaranteed?
No. Verified means we checked the trade licence and, for contracting work in Dubai, Contractor Register status on the date shown. Reviews from real jobs help you judge quality.
Who approves renovations in Dubai?
Usually your master developer or community first, through a NOC, then the permit authority for your area: Dubai Municipality on most of the mainland, Trakhees in areas such as Palm Jumeirah and JVC, or the Dubai Development Authority in TECOM areas.
For businesses
How do I list my business on SoukLocal?
Join as a founding business on the For businesses page. We check your trade licence and, for contracting work, your Dubai Municipality Contractor Register status, then build your listing with you.
What does it cost?
A verified listing is free during the founding period. Paid plans will be published before anyone is asked to pay.
Can I pay to rank higher?
No. Ranking follows published rules: relevance, distance or service area, verification status and reviews. Any paid placement will be labelled Sponsored.
Which areas can I list for?
You choose the Dubai communities you serve. Your listing appears in those communities and in trade searches across Dubai.
